Frequently asked questions

Do 1099 contractors need to send invoices?
Yes — even though clients issue you a 1099-NEC form, sending invoices creates a paper trail, documents your income, and looks professional. If a client pays you $600 or more in a year, they are required to send you a 1099-NEC by January 31.
What should I include on a 1099 contractor invoice?
Your full legal name (or business name), your address, the client's name and address, a unique invoice number, the date, a description of services, the total amount in USD, and your preferred payment method (ACH, Zelle, check, etc.).
Should I include my EIN or SSN on the invoice?
Not necessarily — your EIN or SSN goes on the W-9 form, not on invoices. However, you can add your EIN in the notes for clients who request it. Never put your SSN on an invoice sent by email.
Can I use this for multiple clients?
Yes. Create unlimited invoices for as many clients as you need. Each invoice is saved in your browser — completely private, no server involved.
Does this help with quarterly estimated taxes?
Indirectly, yes. Your saved invoices show your total USD income, which helps you calculate what you owe each quarter (typically 25–30% of net self-employment income for federal + state).
